Box Score

Henderson State's season came to an end as top-seeded Southern Arkansas beat the Reddies 7-0, Monday at the Great American Conference Tournament in Enid, Okla.

SAU pitcher John Abbay limited the Reddies to just five and picked up the complete-game shutout win improving to 8-3 on the year.

It didn't take long for Southern Arkansas to get on the board as Chris Quinn laid down a bunt for a single and scored on a Reddie throwing error later in the inning to give the Muleriders a 1-0 lead.

SAU, 38-15 on the year, increased its lead to 2-0 in the third-inning as Quinn reached base on a walk and stole second. Brady Capshaw then drove in Quinn with a single to center field.

In the seventh-inning, Southern Arkansas blew the game open scoring three runs to increase its lead to 5-0.

After Reddie starting pitcher Dustin Hudson got William Townsend to line out to second, Jordan Wright entered the game in relief of Hudson.

Jason Dahl greeted Wright with a single up the middle and stole second. Quinn was then hit by a pitch with David Harris loading the bases on a walk. Dahl took home on a wild pitch with Quinn and Harris scoring on a double by Ryan Dardenne to left field.

SAU tacked on two more runs in the ninth-inning with the help of a pair of Reddie errors and a two-run double by Capshaw.

Hudson pitched 6 1/3 innings allowing just four hits and striking out two batters in a losing effort.

Austin Coble and Taylor Coleman had two hits each for the Reddies.

Coleman finished the tournament going 6-for-10 at the plate with four runs scored, while Zac Zdanowicz went 6-for-12 with three doubles and three runs batted in.
