Henderson State will travel to Ada, Oklahoma this weekend to take on East Central University in a three-game Great American Conference baseball series beginning Friday at 1 p.m.
The two teams will play a double-header Saturday, with the first pitch set for Noon at Tiger Field.
The Reddies, 2-8 overall and 2-1 in the GAC, won a pair of games last weekend against Southeastern Oklahoma State last weekend before losing to Arkansas Tech on Tuesday.
Henderson State brings a .240 team batting average into the weekend, while Reddie opponents are hitting .279.
Joseph Gary has been Henderson's most productive hitter, having a .300 average with two doubles and five RBIs.Â
Lee Richardson follows with a .280 average having seven hits and three RBIs.
Jay Hawley,
Colton Lorance and
Jon Luthe will make up this weekend's pitching rotation.
Despite having a 0-1 record, Hawley has a 2.13 earned run average with seven strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings of work.
Lorance is 1-0 on the year with a 2.20 ERA. In 16 1/3 innings on the mound, Lorance has struck out seven batters with opponents hitting for a .230 average.
Luthe has struggled in the early part of the year having a 0-3 record. The senior from Searcy has pitched 9 2/3 innings and allowed 15 earned runs.
ECU has a 3-7 overall record and are 0-3 in the GAC after being swept by Ouachita Baptist last weekend.
Josh Lavender leads the team with a .316 average followed by Nick Spini who is hitting .303.
