Henderson State broke a 5-5 tie in the eighth-inning to beat East Central 7-6, Saturday in Ada, Okla.
The Reddies lost the series finale 6-2 and fell to 3-10 overall and 3-3 in the Great American Conference.
In the opener, Henderson State jumped out to a 2-0 lead scoring both runs with two-outs.
With
Andy Kovarik on first reaching on a fielder's choice,
Matt Evans singled to right field advancing Kovarik.
Conner Brackhahn then singled up the middle to score Kovarik and move Evans to third.
Brackhahn was caught stealing second, but not before Evans crossed the plate for the second run.
ECU, 5-8 overall and 2-4 in league play, scored three runs in the bottom of the third with the big hit being a two-run home run by Josh Lavender.
Henderson State regained the lead in the fourth-inning and added another run in the fifth to make the score 5-3.
Kovarik homered to left field to begin the fourth, with Evans later scoring on a Lance Field single and an error.
Henderson manufactured a run in the fifth as Mayall walked to lead off the inning and later scored on an ECU fielding error.
ECU answered in the seventh-inning with two runs to tie the score, before the Reddies took a 7-5 lead in the eighth.
Jared Aschbrenner started things with an infield single, with Tadarius Hawkins then reaching on ECU's third error of the game.
Luke McGuire who pinch-ran for Aschbrenner, scored all the way from first on the play with Hawkins advancing to third.
Hawkins later scored on a sacrifice fly by A.J. Kruzel.
ECU got a run back in the eighth, but relief pitcher
Nick Vanthillo closed the door in the ninth for the Reddies.
Luke Tebbetts picked up the win in relief, going 1 2/3 innings to improve to 2-0 on the year, while Vanthillo got his first save of the year.
In the finale, ECU collected 12 hits and took advantage of seven walks to beat the Reddies 6-2.
Henderson State managed just four hits off of ECU pitcher Icezack Flemming as he went the distance to improve to 1-3 on the year.
Brackhahn went 2-for-2 in the game while Fields had a RBI triple for the Reddies.
Fields finished the three-game series going 4-for-5 while Brackhahn was 4-for-9.
Henderson State returns home Tuesday to face Harding in a non-conference game beginning at 2 p.m. at Clyde Berry Field.
