Henderson State will travel to Bethany, Okla. for a three-game Great American Conference baseball series against Southern Nazarene beginning with double-header on Friday beginning at 1 p.m.
The two teams will finish the series on Saturday with the first-pitch slated for Noon.
The Reddies swept a three-game series from Northwestern Oklahoma last weekend before dropping a mid-week game with No. 4 Southern Arkansas 8-6.
Henderson State, 12-20 overall and 7-11 in GAC play, has won five of its last six games thanks to an offensive surge and solid pitching.
In the last 10 games, the Reddies are hitting .292 while the team ERA is 4.50.
AJ Kruzel, who is hitting.290 on the season, is 10-for-20 in the last 10 games and driven in 10 runs. Kruzel is riding a seven-game hitting streak.
Matt Evans leads the team offensively with a .341 average including going 11 for his last 26 at the plate.
Colton Lorance will start the series opener on the mound for the Reddies. The junior left-hander was named GAC Pitcher of the Week after a 3-1 win over Northwestern Oklahoma last weekend.
The native of Texarkana, Texas is 3-2 on the year with a 3.56 earned run average. Last week against the Rangers, Lorance pitched 7 innings, allowed three hits and struck out a season-best six batters.
Dylan Howell and
Jay Hawley will also be part of the weekend rotation.
Howell picked up his first collegiate win last week against NWOSU, pitching a complete game in a 2-1 win.
The freshman from North Little Rock, Ark. has a 3.12 ERA and has limited opponents to a .217 average.
Hawley struck out a season-best six batters in six innings of work last week against NWOSU.
The freshman from Queen City, Texas has a 4.10 ERA and has 24 punch-outs in 41.2 innings of work.
Luke Tebbetts has been solid out of the bullpen for the Reddies. Another Reddie rookie, Tebbetts is 4-0 on the year including a save.
Last week the Winnsboro, Texas product picked up a win and a save in the series against NWOSU. In four innings of work, Tebbetts shutout the Rangers giving up just three hits while striking out three batters.
The Crimson Storm enters the series with an 11-18 record overall and a 3-15 mark in GAC play.
Offensively, SNU has a .284 team average with Dillon Feland leading the team with a .359 average.
The Reddies will face Kyle Vail, Thomas Solowynsky and Thomas Schellhardt.
Vail sports a 4.12 ERA and is 1-5 on the season, while Solownsky is 1-2 on the year with a 6.29 ERA.
Schellhardt leads the team is starts and has a 3-4 record with a 5.83 ERA.
