Henderson State will play its third road game in four weeks as the No. 7-ranked Reddies travel to Ada, Okla. to face East Central with kickoff set for 6 p.m.

Saturday's game can be heard on the Reddie Sports Network which includes ESPN 106.9 FM in Arkadelphia, covering all of southwest Arkansas; and ESPN 100.7 FM and 1310 AM Malvern, which also covers Hot Springs.

The game will also be heard on 920 AM The Sports Animal in Little Rock.

It will be HSU's first trip to Norris Field since 1991 when the two teams played to a 17-17 tie. Henderson has hosted the Tigers the last four meetings with the Reddies winning all four games.

Henderson State enters the game ranked sixth nationally in total offense averaging 556.3 yards per game, and third in scoring averaging 53.0 points per contest.

Kevin Rodgers has completed 70 percent of his passes (78-of-111) for an average of 316.0 yards per game. The Reddie signal caller threw for 371 yards last week against Southeastern Oklahoma.

The Reddie ground game features
Rodney Bryson,
Jaquan Cole, and
Ryan McDonald. The three have combined for 242 yards last week with Cole having 89 yards on 14 attempts and a pair of touchdowns.

A total of 14 receivers have caught passes this season with
Darius Davis averaging 112.0 yards per game with six touchdowns.
Joseph Snapp has 17 receptions for 248 yards a two touchdowns. Snapp had a career-best 120 yards on seven catches against SOSU.
Mark Czaus is also having a big year having 14 catches for 143 yards and two scores.

Henderson's defensive unit has been stellar in the first three games of the season. The "Big Red D" has totaled 26 tackles for lost yardage along with 14 quarterback sacks. In addition, the Reddies have forced eight turnovers and totaled 17 passes defended.         Â

Opponents have averaged just 267.7 yards of offense and are averaging just 11.3 points per game against the Reddie defense.

Wesley Brady leads the defense with 19 tackles including having 10 tackles and three
pass breakups last week against SOSU.
Lawson Schulz and
Josh Davis follow with 15 tackles each.

East Central enters Saturday's game with a 2-1 record after a 41-20 loss to Ouachita Baptist last week.

The Tigers averages 453.0 yards of offense and 35.0 points per game this season. The Tigers have a solid passing attack averaging 306.7 yards per contest with the help of third-year starting quarterback Spencer Bond.

Bond is a double-threat as he averages 257.7 yards passing and 71.0 yards rushing per game. Earlier this year against Southern Arkansas, the junior from Madill, Okla. rushed for 134 yards and four touchdowns, while completing 22-of-41 passes for 339 yards and two scores. Last year against the Reddies he completed 26-of-49 passes for 335 yards and three scores.

JoJo Snell is also a ground threat for the Tigers. Snell has totaled 182 yards on 19 carries this season. Snell saw most of his action as a receiver against the Reddies a year ago having six catches for 83 yards.

Juwan Dotson leads the receiving corps with 259 yards on 17 catches. Dotson had eight catches for 100 yards in the season-opener against UAM. Gerald Pickett follows with seven catches for 139 yards, while David Moore has 10 receptions for 138 yards.

Defensively, the Tigers have allowed 421.0 yards and 38.3 points per game.
Jameel Whitley leads the team with 29 tackles including a pair of stops for lost yardage, while Kellan Taeatafa-De La Rosa has 27 stops including three pass breakups.
Saturday's game will be
Scott Maxfield's 100th game as Henderson State's head coach. Maxfield has a 63-36 record at HSU.
