Colton Laramore and
Jeanne Miller took home first-place in their events and were the top performers at the Delta State Meet over the weekend in Cleveland, Miss.
Laramore won the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:43.15 and turned in a second-place performance in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:58.80.
Miller outswam her competition in the 200 butterfly and finished with a time of 2:07.32.
Delta State beat the Red Wave men by a score of 175-68, while the women lost to Delta State 162-75 and to West Florida 195-47.
Guy Buls turned in a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 individual medley (1:57.80) and the 200 backstroke (1:56.49), while
Max Pohl was second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:57.57.
Other top performers were Elliott Hill who was third in the 200 freestyle (1:46.22),
Hunter Arnold was third in the 50 freestyle (22.20), and
Austin Bryant who was third in the 100 freestyle (48.47).
Matthew Gribble also finished in third-place in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:10.59, while
Adam Zmijewski was second in the 3-meter diving event with a final score of 220.52
Rachel Ferguson took home third in 1 meter diving (188.02) and 3 meter diving (176.02) for the women's team.
The Red Wave will next travel across highway 7 to take on Ouachita Baptist on Friday at 6 p.m., before hosting Rhodes College on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
