Box Score 2 Playing in frigid temperatures, Henderson State played a non-conference double-header at Ouachita Baptist with the teams splitting the twin bill on Saturday.
The fifth-ranked Reddies won the opener 3-2 in extra-innings, while the Tigers held off Henderson to win the nightcap 3-2.
Both teams were originally to play a weekend Great American Conference series in Oklahoma, but inclement weather forced the cancellation of both series'.
The two teams agreed to play a double-header at Rab Rodgers Field.
OBU held a 2-0 lead through five innings in the opener before the Reddie offense plated a pair of runs in the sixth-inning to tie the score 2-2
Hunter Mayall led off the frame with a double down the leftfield line.
Jordan Taylor would plate Henderson's first run with a singled up the middle to score Mayall.

Hayden Lessenberry joined the hit parade with a single down to left field with Taylor advancing to second. Â

AJ Kruzel would tie the score with a single of his own to score Taylor. The Reddies would then load the bases, but OBU relief pitcher Lance Cullum entered the game and was able to work out of the jam.

In extra-innings, Andy Reynolds led things off with a single to right field.
Luke McGuire would then enter the game to pinch run for the Reddie catcher.

The Reddies would again load the bases when Kruzel was hit by a pitch and
Conner Brackhahn reached safely on a fielder's choice.

With two outs all three runners would advance on a passed ball with McGuire scoring the winning run.

The Reddies worked several pitchers with
Nick Vanthillo pitching the final two innings to pick up the win and improve to 2-0 on the year.

Henderson State totaled eight hits in the game with Taylor leading the way going 2-for-4 with a run batted in.

In game two, Henderson took a quick 1-0 lead in the second-inning when
Ashton Roberts delivered a two-out single to score
Lance Fields who led off the frame with a walk.

The Tigers would score three unearned runs in the fourth-inning to take a 3-1 advantage.

Henderson would get a run back in the fifth-inning when Mayall hit a two-out single up the middle to score Brackhahn who walked earlier in the inning.

Henderson, however, could not string any more hits together as the OBU pitchers held the Reddies in check the remainder of the game.

Each team totaled five hits in the game with Roberts having two hits and
AJ Kruzel adding a double.

The Reddies are scheduled to begin a five-game home stand on Monday with Henderson beginning the week with a 1 p.m. game against Rodgers State.
