The Reddies loaded the bases in the top half of the seventh as Lessenberry, Lance Fields, and AJ Kruzel all singled. However, Henderson was only able score a single run when Brackhahn grounded into a double-play which scored Lessenberry.

Tarleton State, 2-1 on the year, loaded the bases in the bottom half of the seventh, but relief pitcher Jordan Taylor struck out Peter McMahon and was able to get Evan Robinson to fly out to left field to end the Statesmen threat.

With two outs, Mayall singled to left field and then Johnson hit his second home run of the tournament with a blast down the left field line.
