REDDIE BASEBALL WINS THIRD STRAIGHT

Box Score
Lance Fields went 3-for-3 and collected three runs batted in to help Henderson State beat Hendrix 10-4, Wednesday in Conway, Ark.

Fields had a double and hit his second home run of the season.

Henderson State, 12-4 overall, totaled 12 hits in the game with nine different Reddies having hits including Jordan Taylor going 2-for-3 with three runs scored.

The Reddies jumped out to a 3-0 lead as AJ Kruzel led off the game with a walk and Claude Johnson reaching on an error to set the stage for Taylor.

Taylor drove in Henderson's first run when he singled up the middle to plate Kruzel.

The Reddies made the score 2-0 as Hayden Lessenberry forced home Johnson on a fielder's choice.

Henderson wasn't finished as Fields roped a double to right-center field with Lessenberry advancing to third. Lessenberry would then score on a ground out by Hunter Mayall to make the score 3-0.

After Hendrix scored a run in the first, Henderson got a RBI single from Mayall that scored Taylor who was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning.

The Warriors cut the deficit to 4-3 before Henderson added an unearned run in the fifth and three more in the sixth with Fields' three-run home run to left field.

Will Powell had a RBI single in the seventh and Matt Evans drove home a run in the eighth with a single of his own.

Eight pitchers worked the game combining for 11 strikeouts. Luke Tebbetts started the game and pitched two innings, with Dylan McCain, Jay Hawley, Ryan Black, Hayden Daniel, Josh Henderson, Jordan Taylor and Nick Vanthillo all throwing an inning each.

Vanthillo struck out three batters, with Black, Henderson and Taylor fanning two batters each.

Henderson State will return home this weekend to host Arkansas-Monticello in a three-game Great American Conference series beginning Saturday at Clyde Berry Field.
