Box Score Henderson State left nine base runners stranded as the Reddies lost to Central Baptist 6-2, Tuesday in Conway, Ark.
Central Baptist, 17-9 on the season, scored two unearned runs in the second-inning then put together three hits in the sixth-inning plating two more runs.
Following a 75 minute delay due to lightening after the seventh-inning, the Mustangs would add a pair of insurance runs in the eighth frame.
Henderson State, 18-10 on the year, put together threats in the middle three innings but could not get the timely hit.
The Reddies avoided the shutout when
Claude Johnson hit a pinch-hit two-run home run in the ninth-inning.
The Reddies outhit CBC 12 to 10 with
Tadarious Hawkins leading the way going 4-for-4 with a double, whileÂ
Jordan Taylor and
AJ Kruzel had two hits each.
Lance Fields extended his hitting streak to 16 games with a single in the first-inning.
The Reddies will return to Great American Conference play when they travel to Alva, Okla. for a three game series with Northwestern Oklahoma beginning Friday.
