It was an explosive offensive performance as Henderson State totaled a season-high 785 yards of offense as the Reddies beat Oklahoma Baptist 67-21, Saturday at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium/Ruggles Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The Reddie Homecoming crowd was treated to numerous long touchdown plays along with a pair of safeties by the defense as Henderson scored in nearly every way imaginable.

Henderson's passing game compiled 594 yards with
Andrew Black completing 14-of-27 passes for 351 yards and five touchdowns in just over two quarters of work.

Evan Lassiter also had a big day entering the game early in the third quarter completing 17-of-26 passes for 243 yards and a pair of scores.

The 594 yards is one yard shy of GAC record of 595 set by the Reddies on September 13, 2013 against East Central.

The home team jumped out to a 7-0 lead on its opening possession as
Austin Bennett caught a 6-yard pass from Black with 11:37 to play in the first quarter. The drive covered 65-yards on 10-plays which included a 36-yard reception by
Courtney Whitehead.

Following a Bison punt to the Reddie 3-yard line, Black recorded the second longest passing play in HSU and GAC history as he connected with
Al Lasker along the sideline with Lasker racing 97-yards to pay dirt.

The Reddies extended the lead to 21-0 late in the quarter as Whitehead reached the end zone on a crossing route for a 13-yard score. The drive included a 37-yard run by
Micah Cooper and a 22-yard pass reception by
Jaquan Cole.

Oklahoma Baptist, 2-7 on the year, would get on the board to begin the second quarter on a Dezmond Stegall 52-yard strike to Isaiah Mallory.

Henderson's next score was set up by a blocked punt by
De'Madre Clark with
Blake Burnard recovering on the OKBU 1.
Robert Thomas would score on the very next play to increase the lead to 28-7.

After forcing a Bison punt, the Reddies would score on their next possession as Black hit
Ben Johnson for a 73-yard touchdown.

Henderson, 7-2 on the season, would force a pair of safeties as Oklahoma Baptist had errant snaps on punts that went through the end zone.
The Reddies would score late in the half on an 8-yard run by Cooper to make the score 46-14 at the break.

Black would throw his fifth touchdown of the game early in the second half as he hit Bennett from 40-yards out to extend the lead to 53-14 with 10:15 remaining in the third quarter.

Lassiter would enter the game for the Reddies the rest of the way and pick up where Black left off.

The native of Coral Springs, Fla. quickly moved the Reddies downfield with a pair of 13-yard pass plays to Lasker and
Jacoby Lewis along with another 22-yard connection with Lasker. He would cap off the drive with 2-yard toss to Whitehead to make the score 60-14.

Henderson's final score came at the end of the third quarter as Lassiter found Johnson open for a 58-yard touchdown.

Eleven different receivers caught passes for the Reddies with Johnson having three catches for 151 yards and two scores, while Lasker totaled 132 yards on three grabs and a touchdown.

Adler Goode came off the bench in the second-half and totaled four receptions for 77 yards, with Whitehead finishing with five catches for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while
James Driskell hauled in six passes for 52 yards.

Cole led the Reddie ground games with 91 yards on 11 attempts, while Cooper finished the game with 78 yards on 10 carries.

The Reddie defense totaled 17 tackles for lost yardage with
Josh Davis leading the way with 12 total tackles with one for lost yardage, while
Cameron Sonnier had seven stops and three tackles for loss.

Henderson totaled 10 passes defended including interceptions by
Darius Thomas,
Mercardo Anderson and
Anthony Hatten.

Place kicker
Houston Ray would set the Henderson career record for extra-points as he totaled nine PATs for the game. Ray now has 134 extra-points, passing previous record holder Charles Gonsalves who totaled 132 PATs from 2011 to 2014.

Scott Maxfield is 10-2 in Homecoming games at Henderson.

Henderson State will embark on its final road trip of the season next Saturday as the Reddies travel to Bethany, Okla. to face Southern Nazarene with kickoff slated for 1 p.m.
