Reddies Embark on Final Road Trip of the Year

Henderson State will hit the road for the final time in 2016 as the Reddies travel to Bethany, Okla. to face Southern Nazarene with kickoff set for Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
Despite the loss to Southern Arkansas in El Dorado, the Reddies still have their 25-game road winning streak intact as the game was a neutral site contest according to the NCAA. Henderson is a perfect 26-0 in the GAC in road contests since the inception of the league in 2011.       
                       
Henderson State compiled a season-high 785 yards of offense in the 67-21 win over Oklahoma Baptist last week. 
             
Andrew Black had a career-high 351 yards passing completing 14-of-27 passes while tossing five touchdowns.
 
Evan Lassiter entered midway through the third quarter and completed 17-of-26 passes for 243 yards and two scores.
 
Black is currently averaging 173.0 yards passing per game while completing 61 percent of his attempts, while Lassiter averages 113.0 yards per game with a completion percentage of 65.    
           
Jaquan Cole led the Reddie ground game with 91 yards on 11 attempts, while Micah Cooper had a career-high 78 yards on 11 carrier.
 
Cole averages 50.8 yards per game including 5.8 yards per attempt.
 
Last week was a big day for receivers as 11 different Reddies caught passes with two going over the 100-yard mark.
 
Ben Johnson had a career-best 151 yards on three catches including a touchdown, while Al Lasker had 132 yards on three receptions and a 97-yard score.       

Courtney Whitehead is still Henderson's top receiver with 43 catches for 632 yards. Austin Bennett has 24 receptions for 329 yards, while Lasker has 14 catches for 326 yards for an average of 23.3 yards per catch.       

Defensively the Reddies totaled an astonishing 17 tackles for lost yardage and currently leads the GAC with 74 tackles for loss. Henderson has allowed 355.4 yards per game which ranks third in the GAC while ranking second in scoring defense allowing 22.3 points per contest.       

Josh Davis led Henderson defensively against Oklahoma Baptist with 12 tackles running his career total to 287 stops.
                       
Cameron Sonnier leads the Reddies defensively with 78 tackles including a league-best 12.0 tackles for lost yardage.     
           
Southern Nazarene enters Saturday's game with a 1-8 record after last week's 41-14 loss at Ouachita Baptist. The Crimson Storm ranks 12th in the GAC in total offense averaging 236.7 yards per game while averaging just 12.8 points per contest.           

Jacob Spady is the workhorse of the team working as quarterback while running the option. Spady has completed 65-of-132 passes for 795 yards and six touchdowns. Spady leads the Crimson Storm ground game averaging 65.5 yards per game having carried the ball 113 times for 524 yards. He has accounted for 10 of SNU's 14 offensive scores.
 
Last year the sophomore from Hinton, Okla. threw for 102 yards completing 16-of-33 passes while being picked off three times.
             
Terence Olds will also be called on to carry the ball for SNU. The junior from Oklahoma City has carried the ball 72 times for 411 yards.
           
Only three receivers have caught 10 or more passes this year for SNU led by Reese Carlson who has 15 receptions for 159 yards. Johnathan Martin follows with 11 catches for 104 yards, while Derrick Arrington has 10 grabs and 75 yards.
           
The Bison defensive ranks ninth allowing 454 yards per contest, surrendering a league high 271.0 yards rushing per game.    

Brevon Jackson and Josh Jordan lead the team defensively with 59 tackles each with Jackson having six tackles for loss including four sacks.
 
Noah Wells has 57 tackles including a team best eight tackles for lost yardage.   

Saturday's game against Southern Nazarene will be the fifth meeting between the two teams with the Reddies claiming victory in all four games including a 76-7 win last year in Arkadelphia. Henderson State has outscored the Crimson Storm 293 to 45 in the four games.
 
Those unable to attend Saturday's contest can follow the action courtesy of the Henderson State Sports Network with 106.9 FM KYXK in Arkadelphia being the flagship station.

In addition, affiliates 99.7 FM in Hot Springs, 93.3 FM and 690 AM in Benton, Ark., and 920 AM The Sports Animal in Little Rock will also carry the game. The Henderson State Sports Network will be also available on-line at hsusports.com.

The broadcast team of Phil Elson, RJ Hawk and Kevin Rodgers will call all the action of Reddies football with the Domino's Pregame Show set for Noon.

• Henderson is making just its second trip to Bethany, Okla. The Reddied last play at SNU in 2014 when Henderson came away with a 72-7 win. 
• In the four previous games, the Reddies have averaged 654 yards of offense per game including 456 passing yard per contest. On the flip-side, Southern Nazarene has averaged 245.0 yards of total offense and 179 passing yards per game.
• The Reddies have forced 12 SNU turnovers over the four seasons, while committing six turnovers of their own.
