Henderson State returns to action Tuesday as the Reddies face Delta State in a single nine-inning affair at Clyde Berry Field with the first pitch set for 3 p.m.
The Reddies, 14-17 overall, are coming of a series victory over Southern Arkansas, while the Statesmen are 20-9 having won eight straight games.
Kris Priddy is scheduled to start for the Reddies on the mound. The freshman from Terrell, Texas has a 2.86 earned run average in 22 innings of work.
Priddy picked up his first collegiate win a week ago when he pitched seven no-hit scoreless innings against Hendrix. Â
The Reddies are hitting .246 offensively and rank seventh nationally in fielding at .975.
Tadarious Hawkins leads Henderson with a .318 average after going 6-for-12 last weekend against SAU. The senior from Commerce, Texas has a .424 average over the last 10 games which includes a 10-game hitting streak.
AJ Kruzel follows at .312 which includes going 7-for-15 (.467) in the last five games. The senior from Cincinnati, Ohio leads the Reddies with a .459 slugging percentage which includes seven doubles, three triples along with 15 runs batted in.
Delta State is hitting .339 as a team with 65 doubles, eight triples and 29 home runs.
Will Robertson leads the Statesmen with a .402 average including a team-best 14 doubles with 28 RBI.
Trent Giambrone follows with a .396 average with a team best .712 slugging percentage. Giambrone has provided DSU with 12 doubles and seven home runs along with a team-high 29 RBI.
