Henderson State turned in a team total of 581 to tie for third-place at the Dave Falconer Classic in Danville, Ark.
The tournament was shortened to 36 holes from 54 holes due to inclement weather. The teams played the first round and part of the second round on Monday, and finished round two Tuesday morning. Due to impending heavy rainfall expected, tournament officials elected to cancel the final round.
Arkansas Tech won the event with a team score of 571, followed by Southeastern Oklahoma at 579. Henderson and Washburn finished two shots behind the Storm, while Trevecca Nazarene placed fifth with a team score of 585.
Other Great American Conference schools competing in the 21 team event included Southern Nazarene in eighth-place with a 593 total, Southwestern Oklahoma ninth at 595, Arkansas-Monticello and Harding tied for 13
th at 601, Oklahoma Baptist 16
th at 612, Southern Arkansas tied for 17
th with a 614 total and Northwestern Oklahoma 20
th finishing with a score of 640.
Drew Greenwood was Henderson's top finisher with an even-par 144 total on the par 72, 7,046-yard Chamberlyne Country Club course.
Greenwood led the field in par 3 scoring at 2-under par while also totaling eight birdies for the tournament.
Mauricio Lira and
Wess Webb tied for 19
th-place with a 36-hole total of 146. Lira had rounds of 74-72 and totaled a team best 26 pars. Webb carded 72-74 which included 24 pars.
Price Murphree finished tied for 29
th after rounds of 73 and 74. Murphree was 3-under in par 5 scoring playing the holes in 4.63.
Kevin Boutier tied for 56
th out of 116 competitors with rounds of 77 and 76 for a 153 total.
Gil Debusscher played as an individual and finished tied for 44
th after scores of 74 and 77.
Henderson will next travel to San Antonio, Texas to participate in The Rattler Invitational hosted by St. Mary's University at the Golf Club of Texas March 14 and 15.
