Reddies Take On Texas A&M Texarkana In Tuesday Tilt

Henderson State will look to extend its winning streak as the Reddies take on Texas A&M-Texarkana, Tuesday at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia, Ark. with the first pitch slated for 6 p.m.

The Reddies are coming off a three-game sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma improving to 19-19 overall and 14-10 in Great American Conference play.

Henderson's offense collected 35 hits in the series against the Rangers with the Reddies having five home runs after entering the weekend with a total of seven.

Luke McGuire entered the starting line up three weeks ago and is hitting for a .333 average.

However it is Jake Gaul who has been hot at the plate going 8-for-17 in the last five games for a .471 average. Gaul is hitting .318 on the season.

Hunter Mayall has also had a solid couple of weeks going 7-for-17 including a 4-for-4 performance in Henderson's 8-4 win over NWOSU last Saturday. Mayall is hitting .273 for the season while having a .410 on base percentage.

The HSU pitching staff is led by some talented freshman. The Reddie Rookies of Kris Priddy, Blake Patterson and Zach Eschberger have combined for 11 wins and a pair of saves.

Priddy will start on Tuesday with the native of Terrell, Texas having a 3-0 record with a 2.16 ERA. In his last seven appearances, Priddy has worked 24.1 innings and has a 1.11 ERA.

Patterson has a 2.39 ERA and has struck out 41 batters in 37.2 innings, while Eschberger is 6-4 overall with a 4.35 ERA which includes 42 punch outs in 60 innings.

Texas A&M-Texarkana is 25-15 on the season after dropping three games over the weekend.

The Eagles are hitting .310 offensively with Bobby Kramer leading the team with a .455 average which includes 19 doubles and 28 RBI.

Kenneth Fudge supplies the power for TAMAC having a .359 average with a team best five home runs and 45 RBI.

The Eagle pitching staff has a 5.34 ERA with opponents hitting .275.\
