FULL RESULTS
Henderson State put forth a strong effort, but the Red Wave men's and women's swimming team both lost to Delta State, Friday at the Duke Wells Center Natatorium.
The Red Wave women lost to Delta State 146-93, while DSU beat the HSU men 179-60.
Maddy Arnold started things for the women placing second in the 1-meter dive event with a score of 249.75, but won the 3-meter dive with a score of 253.58.
The 200 medley relay was the first swimming event with the Henderson foursome of
Maddie Samples,
Mikayla Wood,
Lindsey Butler and
Ohemaa Barnes placing second with a time of 1:51.31.
The Red Wave took the top three spots in the 50 freestyle with
Lindsey Lucas winning in a time of 25.54, with
Maddie Samples placing second (25.62), and
Ohemaa Barnes third (25.89).
Eleonora Unanova won the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:38.94 and later was second in 500 freestyle touching the wall in 5:17.36.
Lindsey Butler took second in the 100 butterfly (1:00.02), while
Lindsey Lucas was second in the 100 freestyle (54.71).
Jordan Adkins took third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.77.
In the 100 breaststroke,
Mikayla Wood was Henderson's top finisher placing second in a time of 1:10.89, while
Elam Fulton at 1:13.02.
On the men's side, the 200 medley relay team of
Bogdan Pochynok,
Tom Nguyen,
Yahor Pauliukovich,
Caleb Murders started things by placing second with a time of 1:35.26.

Tom Nguyen took first-place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.44, and later finished third in the 100 breaststroke clocking in at 1:00.84.
Hunter Arnold scored in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, placing second in 50 freestyle (21.73) and third in 100 freestyle (47.70).
Yahor Pauliukovich was second in 400 individual medley touching the wall in 4:20.31 while
Bogdan Pochynok was second in 100 backstroke (51.38).
The final event of the meet was perhaps the most exciting event with Delta State beating the foursome of Arnold, Pochynok,
Corbin Greening and Murders in the 200 freestyle relay by .03 seconds with Henderson posting a time of 1:26.57.
Henderson will next participate in the Trinity University Invitational next Friday and Saturday in San Antonio, Texas.
