Reddies Baseball to Host Harding in 3-Game GAC Series

Henderson State returns home for a three-game Great American Conference series as the Reddies play host to Harding at Clyde Berry Field. The series begins Friday with a single-game at 6 p.m. followed by a Saturday double-header set for Noon.

Henderson has won its first two league series' including taking two of three games from Oklahoma Baptist on the road last weekend.

In the series against Oklahoma Baptist, Hayden Lessenberry led the Reddies offense going 6-for-12 with 3 doubles, 5 runs batted in while Alan Hall was 5-for-11 with a double.

Henderson's offense has a .261 average collectively with Parker Jones leading the club.
Jones is hitting .321 which includes 5 doubles and 8 runs batted in.

Joe Myers is 15-of-47 on the year for a .319 average while Lessenberry is hitting .298 with five doubles.

Henderson's pitching staff has been the big key to success this season with the Reddie hurlers having a GAC best .3.00 ERA.

Luke Tebbetts will get the start on the mound on Friday, with Chris Hunt and Bryant Haralson starting Saturday.

Tebbetts is 3-0 on the season with a 2.81 ERA. The senior right-hander from Winnsboro, Texas went 6 2/3 innings last weekend against Oklahoma Baptist striking out four batters in picking up the win.

Hunt is 3-1 after pitching 6 1/3 innings against the Bison, striking out six batters and allowing just one earned run in a 7-6 win.

The senior right-hander from Greenwood, Ark. leads the team in strikeouts with 29 in 25 1/3 innings of work and sports a 2.84 ERA.

Haralson will be looking for his first conference win. The junior right-hander from Atkins, Ark. is 2-2 on the year and has a 3.10 ERA.

Haralson has fanned 24 batters in 20 1/3 innings of work with opponents being limited to .192 hitting.

Harding enters with a 4-9 record and 3-3 in league play after losing its series last weekend with Southwestern Oklahoma.

The Bisons hit .230 collectively as a team which ranks 10th in the GAC.
Grant Guest is one of two players hitting above .300 for the Bisons having a .367 average with 5 doubles and 6 RBI.

Luke VanDover has provided the power for Harding having a team-best two home runs, with eight RBI and a .455 slugging percentage.

The Bisons pitching staff has a 5.68 ERA with opponents hitting .271.

Harding will send Austin Allen, Reed Roberts and Jackson Ward to the mound this weekend.

Allen is 2-2 on the year with a 2.48 earned run average. Allen gave up five runs in four innings of work last weekend against SWOSU.

Roberts will start Saturday and is 0-2 posting a 7.65 ERA, while Ward will be on the bump in the finale having a 1-2 record and a 6.75 ERA. Ward picked up the lone win last weekend allowing just two hits and striking out six in the victory over the Bulldogs.
