Henderson State will travel to Magnolia, Ark. this weekend for a three-game Great American Conference series against 8
th-ranked Southern Arkansas beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
The Reddies, fourth in the GAC standings, enter the weekend 20-13 overall and 13-8 in league play.
The Muleriders have a two game lead over second-place Arkansas Tech having a 26-7 overall record and a 19-2 mark in the GAC.
SAU leads the GAC in most offensive categories including batting average (.305), home runs (35), slugging percentage (.479) and on base percentage (.412).
The Riders have a trio of power hitters including Trevor Rucker who is hitting .396 with 9 home runs and 20 runs batted in.
Jacob Richardson follows with 5 homers and 29 RBI, while Cortland McPherson is hitting .382 with five dingers and 23 RBI.
The Mulerider pitching staff is equally impressive having a 3.65 collective earned run average, second in the GAC.
Dalton Algiene, Kenneth Tabor and Connor Wells make up the weekend rotation for SAU.
Algiene is 8-1 on the season with a 1.70 ERA while striking out 66 batters.
Tabor is 6-1 on the season with a 4.44 ERA, while Wells is 2-2 with an earned run average of 3.11.
Henderson enters weekend play with a .256 team average.
Hayden Lessenberry leads the Reddies with a .325 average including hitting .360 against GAC opponents.
Parker Jones follows with a .311 average. Jones has been Henderson's hot hitter as of late going 15-for-38 in the last 10 games.
Luke Tebbetts will pitch the opener on Friday. The senior from Winnsboro, Texas is 6-1 on the year with a 2.30 earned run average.

Bryant Haralson will pitch in Saturday's double-header.
Hunt is 5-3 this season with a 4.17 ERA. The senior from Greenwood, Ark. has 50 strikeouts in 54 innings of work.
Haralson sports a 5-2 record overall and a league best 1.38 ERA. The junior from Atkins, Ark. has a team best 66 strikeouts while walking just 6 batters.
