ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State made quick work of Lane College on Saturday afternoon, dispatching of the Lady Dragons in three sets to clinch its 24th win of the season at the Duke Wells Center.
The Reddies (24-5, 11-3) have more wins than any team in the Great American Conference this year and have notched the program's most wins in a single season since 2001, when they won 28 matches.
Eight different Reddies had kills in the win.
Karlie Greene led the way with nine kills, three blocks and five digs, while
Zuzana Ondruskova had seven kills and four digs.
Liz Drogan added five kills for Henderson,
Courtney Ahrns had four and
Sydney Sahd had a team-high six digs in the victory. The Reddies had a .447 hitting percentage and held Lane to just a .049 attacking percentage.
Henderson's next match is on Oct. 30 in Monticello, Arkansas, when it faces UAM at 6 p.m.
SET ONE
Henderson jumped out in front 11-5 early in the first set and never looked back from there. The Reddies eventually opened up a lead as big as 20-10, then traded the final 10 points of the frame to win it comfortably, 25-15.
SET TWO
The Reddies seized an 8-3 lead out of the gates and Lane showed fight to keep the deficit at five for the next several points, but with HSU up 11-6, the Reddies ripped off a 14-5 run to close the frame and win it 25-11.
SET THREE
After the Lady Dragons took the first two points, the third set was all Henderson. The Reddies tied it at 4-4 and then proceeded to take 21 of the next 23 points, racing past Lane 25-6 to pick up win No. 24 on the year.
