Henderson State finishes the regular-season portion of its schedule as the Reddies play host to rival Ouachita Baptist in a three game Great American Conference series beginning with a single game on Friday at Clyde Berry Field with the first pitch set for 6 p.m. The two teams will finish the series with a double-header on Saturday set for 2 p.m.
The Reddies enter the series with a 28-16 overall record and a 20-10 mark in GAC play. Henderson has locked up a spot in the GAC Tournament next weekend in Enid, but still has a chance to win a share of the regular-season title.
Â
The Reddies are two games behind first-place Arkansas-Monticello. A series sweep over OBU and two losses by UAM to Southern Arkansas would result in Henderson sharing the title with UAM. If SAU sweeps UAM, the Reddies would share the title with the Muleriders.  Â
Henderson State will be attempting to set a school record for conference wins this weekend. The Reddies have recorded 20 conference wins each of the last three seasons, with one more conference victory, the Reddies will set the school record.
Â
The Reddies also need two more wins to record 30 wins in a season for the fourth straight year. It would be only the seventh time in Reddie baseball history that a team has recorded 30 or more victories in a season.
