ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State dominated rival Ouachita Baptist in all facets Friday evening at the Wells Natatorium, as the Red Wave men and women both picked up convincing wins in their dual matches.
The women were in control throughout and claimed a 127-78 victory, while the men won every event but one on the night to take it 138-64.
Isabelle Andrews led the way for the Henderson women with two-first place finishes in the 200-yard free (1:59.52) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.14). Five different Red Wave swimmers picked up individual events on Friday, as Aly Voos won the 1000 Free (11:01.01), Elam Fulton took the 50 free (24.57),Â
Amy Brandenburg touched the wall first in the 100 backstroke (1:01.28), Ceci Magnani outlasted the field in the 500 free (5:24.14) and Elza Kachliishvili claimed the top spot in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.30).
The Red Wave swept the relays in the win, as the team of Emily Chen, Kachliishvili, Andrews and Fulton took first in the 200 medley relay (1:50.50) and Lauren Evans, Claire Avery, Ardyn Wilson and Brandenburg won the 200 freestyle relay (1:43.67).
Henderson's men left no doubt on their side of the competition. Till Steyer was the catalyst for the Red Wave with two individual wins in the 200-yard free (1:42.86) and the 100 butterfly (53.29). HSU won every race but the 200- free relay, as seven swimmers won races on the evening. Oscar Patten won two — the 100 free (48.84) and the 1000 free (10:27.44) — while Jason Seiner won the 50 free ((22.16), Logan Wetterling took first in the 400 IM (4:27.86), Alex Layman secured the top spot in the 100 backstroke (55.71), Triston Little won the 500 free (4:51.15) and Tim Holt grabbed first in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.16).
The Red Wave swim next at the Hendrix Classic in Conway, Arkansas on Nov. 2.
