ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Henderson State Red Wave men finished their season undefeated after a 164-115 victory over Great American Conference-foe Oklahoma Baptist. The women displayed inspired swimming on senior night, earning multiple individual victories despite coming up short to the Bison, 191-94.

Highlighting the night, seniors
Stephen Jones for the men and
Amy Brandenburg for the women saw wins in the 100 backstroke in their last Red Wave home meet of their careers. Jones took top honors in the 100 backstroke (51.69), followed by teammate
Lamar Taylor (52.20). Brandenburg touched the wall first for the ladies with a time of 59.35. This was the Spring, Texas native's first win since having shoulder surgery in the summer of 2020.

Jones continued his special night with two more individual wins in the 200 backstroke (1:52.46) and his final race of the night with the 200 individual medley (1:56.11), ending his collegiate career on a win.

Jase Pinckney won a couple for the men, beginning with the 200 yard butterfly, beating out OKBU's second-place swimmer by 13 hundredths of a second for a time of 1:58.67. Pinckney followed that up with the top-place finish in the 100 butterfly (51.66).

The Reddies padded their lead after claiming the top two spots in the 200 freestyle, with
Patryk Dabrowski (1:46.41) and
Ty Gibbs (1:48.06) battling at one (1) and two (2). This was Dabrowski's first of two victories on the evening with his second coming in the 100 freestyle (46.61).

The Henderson men continued their dominance with
Jaren Tippett and
Oscar Patten matching Dabrowski and Gibbs' top two finishes as Tippett and Patten had the top podium spots in the 100 yard breaststroke with times of 1:00.04 and 1:00.50, respectively. This was Tippett's third top-two finish of the night and second first-place finish.

The last of HSU's top finishers on the men's side was in the 200 medley relay, with Henderson occupying the top two spots with times of 1:34.25 and 1:35.59, and then the 200 freestyle relay as the Reddies wrapped up the match with a top-placing time of 1:24.29

The 1000 freestyle saw several Henderson top-tier finishers. Beginning with the men,
Triston Little came in second with a time of 10:39.84.
Aly Voos and
Ceci Magnani filled the top two spots for the women with times of 11:12.43 and 11:18.15, respectively. Later in the meet, Magnani (5:29.83) and Voos (5:37.23) switched places and finished one and two, respectively, in the 500 freestyle.

Isabelle Andrews and
Mackenzie Kester each earned individual victories for the Red Wave women. Andrews swam the 200 yard butterfly in a blazing 2:12.51, out-swimming the runner-up by a whole six seconds. Kester swam the same distance in the freestyle and left with the same result, touching the wall first at 1:58.43, 19 hundredths of a second ahead of the second-place swimmer.

To finish off their night, both Kester and Andrews put their best foot forward in the 100 yard freestyle, finding themselves in the first and second spot with final tallies of 54.16 and 55.91, respectively. Â

In commemoration of senior night,
Alec Adams and
Will Dubrowski swam the 200 yard butterfly with times of 2:07.19 and 2:17.78, claiming fifth and tenth place, respectively.
Jonathan McKeough got fifth place out of twelve swimmers in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.28).
Jason Seiner was a part of the relay team to take the top spot in the 200 freestyle relay , as well as earning himself an individual third place finish in the 100 freestyle (48.25).

Lindsey Wilson got third in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:18.71) while
Elza Kachlishvili sprinted for seventh in the 50 freestyle (29.30) for the senior women. Kachlishvili ends her Reddies' career as the record holder in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

After finishing off its season, next up for the Henderson State men's and women's swimming team is the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships in Cleveland, Mississippi from Feb. 24-27.
