ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Henderson State men's and women's swimming team overpowered Division III Hendrix Friday night in the final home meet of the calendar year as the Red Wave men won, 163-60, while the ladies took the meet, 170-61.
Â
On the night, the gentlemen won all but one race as
Tim Morrow and
Stephen Jones were a part of both relay teams that took first on the night, first in the 400 yard medley and then the 400 free.
Lamar Taylor came out the big winner of the night by claiming two individual victories as well as swimming a leg of the first-place 400 medley group.
Â
Henderson had seven different swimmers capture individual first-place finishes, including
Patryk Dabrowski, who topped the podium in the 100 free (46.64) as well as being the fourth member in the top-finishing 400 medley relay team, and
Maddox Tidwell, who touched the wall first in the 1000 free (10:24.55) before claiming first in the 400 free relay.
Â
For the ladies, while HSU took both relays, freshman
Kiara Pozvai continued her dominant freshman campaign, earning herself two individual top finishes as well as topping the podium in the 400 medley relay to start the night. Through four head-to-head meets this season, Pozvai has yet to finish anything worse than first in the 50 freestyle races.
Â
Overall, the Red Wave women won every race of the meet, helped in part by senior
