Baseball Hosts Ouachita Baptist in Midweek Clash

GAME COVERAGE LINKS | 2021 HSU BASEBALL GAME DAY INFORMATION

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State returns to the friendly confines of Clyde Berry Field on Tuesday night when it hosts rival Ouachita Baptist in a non-conference game at 6 p.m.

REDDIES REPORT
- Henderson State (7-5, 5-4) dropped its second GAC series of the season over the weekend at Harding. The Bisons took the first two games on Friday, but the Reddies bounced back to salvage a 10-5 win on Sunday in Searcy.

- HSU's GAC-leading ERA took a hit against the hot bats of Harding. The Bisons had 36 hits in the series — 29 of which came in the first two games and 16 of which went for extra bases — and scored 25 total runs. The Reddies now carry a team ERA of 4.58, which still ranks in the top half of the GAC.

- Greyson Stevens continued his strong play for the Reddies over the weekend. The sophomore from Pottsville, Arkansas was 5-for-9 at the plate in the series and hit his team-leading fourth home run in game one on Friday. Stevens has recorded a hit in 10 of HSU's last 11 games and has six multi-hit games on the year.

- Cade Tucker and Taylor Langston once again pitched well out of the bullpen for the Reddies. Both relievers came on in game two on Saturday, with Tucker pitching a scoreless 1.2 innings and Langston going two full frames and striking out six Harding batters. On the year, Tucker has an ERA of 0.00 in 5.2 innings of work with no walks and six strikeouts. Langston boasts an ERA of 1.50, has pitched six innings and struck out nine.

- Arkadelphia native Alec Lewis had a big day in Henderson's win on Sunday. Lewis went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. The freshman had five hits over the course of three games and three of them went for extra bases. Lewis is second on the club with a .366 batting average and 15 hits on the season.

- The rivalry on the diamond with Ouachita Baptist has been very tight in recent years. Each team has won four of the last eight meetings dating back to 2018 and the Tigers have taken four or the last six overall — including the last three matchups at Clyde Berry Field. The Reddies won the series with OBU in 2019 by beating the Tigers twice on the final day of the season.

SCOUTING OUACHITA BAPTIST
- Ouachita Baptist crosses the street on Tuesday night with a record of 4-8 overall and 3-6 in GAC play. The Tigers won their series with Harding two weeks ago, but have dropped three-game sets to both Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Arkansas. OBU is 1-5 on the road this year.

- As a team, OBU is hitting .250 through 12 contests and has a team ERA of 6.82. Ouachita's opponents are batting .311 against the Tigers and are scoring an average of 10 runs per game.

- The Tigers are led at the plate by Tyler Riebock, who leads the team with a .342 average, 13 hits, seven RBIs and two home runs. Riebock has an on-base percentage of .519 and has walked 13 times this season.
