ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State faces another tough test this weekend when it travels to Russellville, Arkansas to play a three-game series against GAC-leader Arkansas Tech.

REDDIES REPORT
- Spencer Taack was recognized for a terrific effort against SAU and earned the first GAC Pitcher of the Week honor of his career on Monday. The right-hander from Dallas hurled a career-long 6.2 innings against the Muleriders last Saturday and allowed just two runs on three hits. Taack struck out a career-high nine batters to earn a no-decision. His efforts helped HSU escape with a 3-2 victory which snapped Southern Arkansas's nine-game win streak.

- Greyson Stevens leads Henderson and is second the in the GAC with 36 hits this season. Stevens is riding a nine-game hitting streak and is batting .500 in those nine contests. The sophomore from Pottsville, Arkansas has recorded two or more hits in 14 of the Reddies' 24 games this year. Stevens was 9-for-17 at the plate last week, which included a 4-for-4 effort in HSU's win over Southern Arkansas.

- Joe Myers leads the conference in runs scored (30) and is second in the league with 29 RBIs. Myers became Henderson's all-time program leader in runs scored against Southern Arkansas last Friday, and now has 127 runs in his career. The senior from Little Rock has seven home runs this season — tied for fourth-most in the GAC.

- Taylor Langston earned his first save of the year against SAU by pitching a scoreless final 2.1 innings for the Reddies on Saturday. The outing was Langston's longest since May 6, 2018 against Southwestern Oklahoma State. The senior from El Dorado, Arkansas has a team-best 1.59 ERA in 11.1 innings of work and has struck out 16 opposing batters.

- The Reddies rank fifth in the GAC as a team in both batting average (.299) and ERA (5.15). HSU has demonstrated its power at the plate and is second in the league with 32 home runs this season. Henderson is one of just three teams with 30 or more deep flies.

- Henderson and Arkansas Tech have played twice already this season in two non-conference matchups. The Reddies defeated the Wonder Boys 8-5 on opening weekend, but ATU took the rematch 13-7 two weeks ago in Arkadelphia. HSU won the series against Tech in 2020 before the season was cut short due to COVID-19, and last won the series in Russellville in 2017.
