ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – In the final meet of 2021-22, for the second time this season, the Henderson State Red Wave men defeated Ouachita Baptist, this time across the street in OBU's Waggoner Pool, 129-107. The women fell in a close race, 118-112.

For the first time this season, the Red Wave had divers competing, as
Logan Wetterling and
Jevonn Cobin dove for the men and
Charlotte Langdon dove for the women. Cobin scored the highest in the one-meter dive, garnering nine points, while Wetterling got four points for taking second. Langdon added three points for her performance in the one-meter dive. Â

The women opened the night with the grouping of
Aimee Miller,
Jessica Bongfeldt,
Isabelle Andrews and
Mackenzie Kester taking first place in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:02.17.

Later in the evening, both teams took first in the 400 free relay with
Emily Chen, Kester, Miller and
Kiara Pozvai for the women and
Patryk Dabrowski,
Oscar Patten,
Tim Holt and
Lamar Taylor for the men finishing above the rest at 3:37.86 and 3:08.17, respectively.

The big winners from the evening were Dabrowski, who topped the podium in the 200 free (1:43.69) and 500 free (4:50.86), and Pozvai, who capped her season-long dominance in the sprint free events, taking top honors in the 100 free (53.18) and the 200 free (1:56.30).

Other winners for the men included
Jase Pinckney in the 50 free (21.26) – less than a second a half of HSU's school-record time –
Oscar Patten in the 100 free (46.72), and Taylor in the 200 backstroke (1:55.84).

On the women's side, a pair of freshmen in
Emma Jorgensen and
Jessica Bongfeldt continued their solid finishes to their first year, touching first in the 200 IM (2:11.89) and the 200 breaststroke (2:31.38), respectively. Junior
Isabelle Andrews rounded out the Red Wave female winners with a first-place nod in the 200 butterfly at 2:17.25.

With the regular season completed, both Red Wave programs will prepare now for the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships in Cleveland, Mississippi, Feb. 16-19.
