LIVE COVERAGE LINKS | TOURNAMENT HOME PAGE

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — After opening the season with three wins at Clyde Berry Field, Henderson State continues its home stand this weekend when it hosts the 2022 HSU Invitational Feb. 10-13.

The Reddies will play St. Cloud State at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Pittsburg State at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Missouri Western at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and Northwest Missouri State at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The full schedule for the event can be found at the tournament home page.

REDDIES REPORT
- The Reddies got off to a terrific start to their 2022 season last weekend when they won three games in three days as a part of the inaugural Dugan Collegiate Invitational. HSU blanked rival Ouachita Baptist 4-0 on Friday, then got back-to-back walk-offs in a 2-1 win over Northwest Missouri State and a 5-4 victory over No. 24 Delta State. The 3-0 start is the program's best since 2017 when the Reddies won 32 games and reached the GAC Tournament championship.

- The pitching staff was excellent for Henderson in the season's opening weekend. The Reddies allowed just five runs and 14 total hits in 28 innings and now hold a team ERA of 0.96. HSU's three opponents were 14-for-93 (.151) against Reddie pitching in the three contests. Henderson's starting pitchers, Spencer Taack, Cade Tucker and Ryan Galvan, combined to throw 17.1 innings in which they allowed six hits and two hits while striking out 15.

- As a team, Henderson hit .240 over the weekend, but the hits were often timely and went for extra bases. The Reddies had 23 hits in the three contests — 10 of which went for extra bases. HSU had six doubles, two triples and two home runs off the bats of Greyson Stevens and Pate Fullerton.

- Fullerton, a transfer from UAB and a Searcy, Arkansas native, has yet to record a single in his career at Henderson, but already has a double, triple and walk-off home run. All three of his hits drove in runs in the three games for HSU. Fullerton and Taack were each named to the Dugan Invitational All-Tournament Team on Monday evening.

- Several Reddies made their debuts in the red and gray at the Dugan Invitational. Redshirt freshmen pitchers Cole Oswald and Ethan Roark each made the first appearances of their college careers on the mound and combined to pitch three innings of relief in the win over Delta State. Newcomers Colton Patterson, David Vilches, Luke Farrar, Landon Ervin and Fullerton combined for 11 hits in the three wins and each started at least two games.
