Nunez Represents Aruba in Billie Jean King Cup

ARKADELPHIA, Arkadelphia - Danna Nunez of Henderson State women's tennis represented her home country of Aruba in the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup, which took place in the Dominican Republic. It was Aruba's first year to compete as a country in the event.

Aruba competed in the Americas Zone Group II, Pool C alongside Panama, Puerto Rico, Bolivia and El Salvador. With there being two singles matches and doubles match in the round robin competition, Nunez helped her Arabian teammates defeat Panama, 3-0, as her and partner Kayla Solagnier defeated Rosaline Zafir Chavez Tello and Paola Alejandra Testa Rodriguez , 6-0, 6-4.

Nunez went 1-1 in doubles in group play in her country's inaugural Billie Jean King Cup. This past season at HSU, Nunez went 1-1 at No. 6 doubles with partner Tirzah Bailey, both of whom will be returning for the 2022-23 season.

Nunez finished her 2021-22 season being named an ITA Scholar Athlete and will come into the new school year as one of three returning Reddies to head coach Annabele Rowland's squad. The fall season will get started with the ITA Regionals in Edmond, Oklahoma, Sep. 23-25 before the GAC Individual Championships Oct. 21-22 in Russellville, Arkansas.
