MEET RESULTS
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The No. 9 Henderson State Red Wave men broke the school record in the 200-yard medley relay before falling to Division I opponent Saint Louis University in a dual-meet, 174-103, while the No. 23 women fell to Little Rock and Saint Louis, 222-37 and 222-45, respectively.
Patryk Dabrowski and
Jack Armstrong each highlighted the day's individual events, claiming a pair of first-place finishes against Division I competition. Dabrowski earned his first win in the 200 butterfly at 1:53.31 before taking first with a 46.58. Armstrong matched Dabrowski with wins in the 50 free (19.89) and 100 fly (47.99).
Lamar Taylor additionally claimed an individual victory for the Red Wave while
Oskar Cebula and
Benjamin Johnson claimed second-place finishes.
Mackenzie Kester served as the highest finishing female on the afternoon with a third-place and fourth-place finish.
Taylor opened up the winnings for the men with a first-place, 49.74 100-yard backstroke. Fairmont State sophomore-transfer
Oskar Cebula backed that up with a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (58.66) before matching that with a runner-up positioning in the 100 IM (53.83). Also seeing a second-place finish was sophomore
Benjamin Johnson in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.30).
For the women,
Mackenzie Kester finished third in the 50 free with a time of 24.82 while Division I Little Rock's second-place swimmer was just 1 hundredths of a second faster at 24.81. Kester finished her performance with a fourth-place nod in the 100 free (53.89).Â
To finish the swimming portion of the event, the No. 9 Red Wave men's quartet of Taylor,
Jaren Tippett,
Jase Pinckney and Armstrong broke the HSU school record in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:27.54, which is currently the fastest time in NCAA Division II.
Henderson State is finished with dual meets for the fall season as its next competition will be the Delta State Christmas Invite in Cleveland, Mississippi, Dec. 9-13. Â
