No. 13 Reddies Win Regional Preview by 18 Strokes

FINAL TEAM LEADERBOARD | FINAL PLAYER LEADERBOARD

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - In the final event of the 2023-24 regular season, the No. 13 Henderson State women's golf team won the 18-team Spring Regional Preview by 18 strokes, finishing the 54 hole event at 20-over 884.

On the individual leaderboard, Jinna Boonbumroongsuk claimed her first win of the season, finishing 4-under 212 and eight strokes ahead of second place.

Tournament-host Arkansas Tech finished second on the team leaderboard at 38-over 902, followed by Central Missouri at 45-over 909, Southwestern Oklahoma State at 46-over 910 and Rogers State at 58-over 922.

After coming into the day with an 11-stroke lead, the Reddies carded a field-best 5-over 293 in the final round to extend their hold on the lead by seven strokes. Through the three rounds, HSU's 20-over 884 is the fifth best 54-hole team score for a Par 72 course in program history.

Boonbumroongsuk was the main catalyst for the field-low final day, using a 3-under 69 to separate herself form the rest of the field. After being tied atop the leaderboard with Southwestern Oklahoma's Megan Brown after the front nine, Boonbumroongsuk lit up the back nine, playing her final six holes 4-under.

With two of her three rounds being under par, the second-year Reddie posted the third best Par 72, 54-hole event in school history. Tuesday's final card also gave her her best 54-hole score at a par 72 course as a member of the program, besting her 3-under 213 at the 2023 NCAA Central Regional.

Felisa Sajulga placed second among the Reddie five-bag, finishing in a tie for sixth with an 8-over 224. Sajulga, who claimed her third sixth place finish this season, climbed nine spots on the leaderboard with a third-round even-par 72.

Lily Nelson stayed put from yesterday at eighth, finishing her 54 holes with a 4-over 76 to record a 9-over 225 for the event. Daphney Tilton finished one stroke behind her at 10-over 226 for her second Top-10 finish this semester.

Allie Bianchi rounded out the Reddie five-bag with an 18-over 234. After sitting tied for 68th following an uncharacteristic opening round score of 10-over 82, Bianchi fought all the way back to 35th with back-to-back rounds of 4-over 76s.

With the 2023-24 regular season in the books, No. 13 Henderson State will now prepare for the GAC Championships in Broken Arrow, Okla. Apr. 21-23, where the Reddies will go for their fourth consecutive GAC Title.
