BLUE SPRINGS, Mo.  -  Henderson State's women's golf team is tied for second after the first round of the Central Region Fall Preview at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri.

The Reddies posted a first-round score of 13-over 301, which was matched by Nebraska-Kearney. Augustana leads after day one with a score of eight-over 296. GAC members Southwestern Oklahoma State and Arkansas Monticello are tied for fifth with a score of 20-over 308. Arkansas Tech (seventh with 22-over 310) and Oklahoma Baptist (tenth with 24-over 312) are both locked in ties for top 10 spots.

Senior Felisa Sajulga and junior Lily Nelson led the way for HSU with twin scores of one-over 73, which tied them for fifth in the individual standings. The returners were complimented by solid debut performances from three Reddie newcomers, including a five-over 78 day for Paulina Narvaez. Augustana's Shannon McCormick led all individuals in the first round with a score of two-under 70.

Henderson will look to separate itself from Nebraska-Kearney and cut into Augustana's five-stroke lead during tomorrow's final round of the tournament. Freshman Madalyn Kost is the first Reddie up tomorrow morning with a 9:50 a.m. tee time at Adams Pointe Golf Club.
