CLEVELAND, Miss. — Henderson State recorded five podium finishes and three victories on the second day of competition at the 2025 NSISC Championships in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Nojus Skirutis won the 200 Yard IM Final after improving on his qualifying time by more than three seconds. His final time of 1:47.59 in the event would have earned him an invite to the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championships and, given that his 2025 time is currently ranked 18th in the country, the Lithuanian may very well be headed to Indianapolis for nationals next month.
Kiara Pozvai proved victorious in a competitive 50 Yard Freestyle Final that saw all eight competitors post times worthy of a Division II B-cut. Pozvai finished the race in 22.92 seconds - 36 hundredths of a second faster than the next-best time in the event. The Keszthely, Hungary, native is likely to receive an invite to nationals.
Freshman Zach Ponder bested his prelim time by nearly 20 seconds to claim second place and a Division II consideration cut in the 1000 Yard Freestyle (9:18.71).
The Red Wave men rounded out the night with a winning 1:27.92 performance in the 200 Yard Medley Relay from Jean Ducastel, Oskar Cebula, Colin Candebat, and Patryk Dabrowski.
In the women's 200 Yard Medley Relay, HSU's Pozvai, Emma Crowe, Raven Roberts, and Valerie Grigar took third at 1:45.10.

The 2025 NSISC Championships will resume tomorrow, February 20, with preliminary races beginning at 10 a.m. Finals will once again take place in the evening starting at 5 p.m.
