Box Score DURANT, Okla. — Henderson State's bats were held in check in its series opener with Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday, as the savage Storm claimed a 9-1 win in game one.
The Reddies were limited to just four hits on the day by Southeastern pitching. Two of those hits were doubles from Luke Rice and the lone run in the contest for HSU came on a solo blast from Jaxson Gregg in the fifth inning.
The Savage Storm kept the pressure on Henderson for most of the afternoon offensively and scored at least one run in seven of the nine innings of play. Southeastern also took advantage of the long ball, hitting three home runs in the victory.
The loss drops the Reddies to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in Great American Conference play. HSU will look to bounce back on Sunday when the two teams wrap the series with a doubleheader in Durant, Oklahoma at 12:00 p.m.
