Reddies Looking for Fourth Straight Series Victory, Hosting SNU This Weekend

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.  —  Henderson State will be on the hunt for a fourth consecutive GAC series win when Southern Nazarene visits Clyde Berry Field this weekend. The three-game set will open with a single contest at 6 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 21. The Reddies will then wrap up their showdown with the Crimson Storm in a doubleheader at noon on Saturday, Mar. 22.

REDDIE NOTES
Henderson State enters the weekend having won three consecutive conference series - all of them against regionally-ranked opponents. Last week, HSU took two of three games from Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee. On Tuesday, the Reddies outlasted Southern Arkansas in a 15-10 midweek marathon in Magnolia.

Reese Weaks has recorded three straight wins and quality starts on the mound. The senior teamed up with Tyler Bates to throw a combined shutout at OKBU on Saturday, Mar. 15. Since the start of conference play, Weaks is 4-1 with a 2.66 earned run average.

Payton Byrd currently leads the Great American Conference with six saves on the season.

Jaxson Gregg has 12 hits in his last five games - a span that has included four multi-hit performances. The outfielder posted a combined OPS of 1.872 in last week's games against Mississippi College and Oklahoma Baptist.

Jeremy Schork has hit nine home runs in 2025 thus far: the most of any player in the GAC. The senior from Fenton, Missouri, had four hits in Tuesday night's win at SAU. He is also first on the team in walks (18) and RBI (tied at 30).

Luke Farrar tops the team in many categories, including batting average (.392), OPS (1.128), hits (40), and RBI (tied at 30). He is on a 14-game hitting streak that has included eight multi-hit outings.

Alex Galvan leads all qualified Reddie batters with an on-base percentage of .479.

Luke Rice has reached base safely in 24 of his 25 appearances for Henderson this season.

With a slash line of .329/.460/.471, Tripp Campbell continues to deliver as a redshirt freshman.

SCOUTING SOUTHERN NAZARENE
Southern Nazarene makes the trip to Arkadelphia in search of its first conference series win since Mar. 2, 2024, when the Crimson Storm captured a three-game set versus East Central. SNU's last single-game victory over the Reddies was on Feb. 18, 2017: a 2-1 triumph at Clyde Berry Field. This weekend, the Crimson Storm will be looking for its first-ever GAC series win against Henderson.

Jaxon Gless leads Southern Nazarene in batting average (.361) and slugging percentage (.541). He enters the weekend on a nine-game hitting streak.

Antonio Sabala has consistently proven himself to be a tough out in 2025. He paces his team in on-base percentage (.526), OPS (1.045), hits (28), and total bases (42).

Weston Hicks tops the Crimson Storm leaderboard for home runs (four) and RBI (27). The senior from Edmond, Oklahoma, homered once and drove in two runs during last weekend's series versus Ouachita Baptist.

Tucker LeMay's 24 walks on the season are good for third in the GAC.

Christian Garcia leads his squad in several pitching categories, including wins (tied at two), innings pitched (33.2), strikeouts (29), and opposing batting average (.298). The right-hander threw a complete-game, two-hit shutout in a seven-inning victory over Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, Mar. 15.
