MAY 7 - BASEBALL CENTRAL REGION RANKINGS

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — After going 3-0 and winning its bracket at the GAC Tournament in Enid, Oklahoma last weekend, the Henderson State baseball team moved up to No. 8 in the latest Central Region Rankings on Wednesday afternoon.

The Reddies (31-20) were outside of the Top-10 last week, but knocked off regionally ranked opponents Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello twice to clinch a spot in the GAC Tournament Championship against Harding.

Five GAC teams were in the newest regional rankings. Arkansas Tech was No. 4, UAM was No. 6, Southern Arkansas was No. 7 and Harding was No. 10. Henderson State is 13-5 this season against the other four regionally-ranked GAC programs.

This was the final iteration of the regional rankings. The eight teams selected for the NCAA Central Regional will be released live on Sunday evening at 9:30 p.m. CST on NCAA.com.

Henderson State controls its own NCAA Tournament fate. If the Reddies win the GAC Tournament title this weekend, they will secure the conference's automatic postseason bid.

The first pitch of game one at the GAC Championship series is set for 6 p.m. Friday night at Jerry Moore Field in Searcy.
