Bobbi Bazzle Named 2024-25 NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee for Henderson State

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State women's basketball player Bobbi Bazzle has been selected as the school's NCAA Woman of the Year nominee for 2024-25.

Established in 1991, the NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors the academic achievements, athletic excellence, community service and leadership of graduating female college athletes from all three NCAA divisions.

A native of The Woodlands, Texas, Bazzle was a four-year member of the Reddie women's basketball program and played in 108 games in her career. She started 58 contests over the last two seasons and was a starter on Henderson's 2024 GAC Tournament Championship team. A terrific student in the classroom, Bazzle was a two-time GAC Elite Scholar-Athlete, given only to those with perfect 4.0 GPAs, a 2025 Beta Sigma Honor Society member, and a 2025 CSC Academic All-District selection.

Although she built an impressive athletic resume, Bazzle's impact went far beyond the court during her time in Arkadelphia. She was a two-time Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) president at Henderson State and served as president of SAAC for the Great American Conference in 2024-25. On campus, Bazzle was active as the secretary for HSU Heart and Key, a graduate assistant in the Alumni Relations office, a volunteer at Davis Baker preschool, and a participant in the McNair Scholars program.

Bazzle did extensive work in the community of Arkadelphia during her four years at Henderson State, including planning a community Easter Egg Hunt at the Reddie softball facility, volunteering her time at the Humane Society of Clark County and the Clark County Food Pantry, and assisting teachers at local Peake Elementary School. For her service efforts, she received the Community Recognition Award for Exemplary Sports Leadership and Service in 2024.

"The NCAA has provided me with a platform to grow, lead, and serve," Bazzle said. "The lessons I've learned: resilience in the face of adversity, the value of teamwork, and the courage to use my voice, will remain with me long after the final buzzer. Being nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year is a profound honor. It marks not just the culmination of my student-athlete journey but the beginning of a lifelong mission to lead, advocate, and uplift."

Bazzle graduated with two degrees from Henderson State University: a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Pre-Law Sociology and an MBA with Concentration in Management. This fall, she will continue her education at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, where she plans to become a civil rights or sports and entertainment attorney.

Nominees representing each conference will be selected in July. All conference-level nominees are forwarded to the Woman of the Year selection committee. The selection committee will choose the Top-10 honorees in each division. From among those 30 honorees, the selection committee will determine the three finalists in each division. Finally, the members of the Committee on Women's Athletics will vote from among the top nine finalists to determine the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year.
