ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State's women's basketball program had three players earn 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recognition on Tuesday.

Sophomore guard Sam Basson of Allen, Texas, senior forward Bobbi Bazzle of The Woodlands, Texas, and junior guard Brynlee Huggins of Pangburn, Arkansas were each named Academic All-District selections. Huggins will advance to the national ballot, where she will have the opportunity to earn Academic All-American distinction.

Basson started in 22 of her 28 appearances for the Reddies this season as a sophomore and averaged 8.1 points per game. She led the team in 3-point field goal percentage (37.4%) and free throw percentage (86.7%). Bazzle started in every contest but one in her final season for HSU. She averaged 4.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game and made 108 appearances for the red and gray in her four-year career. Huggins was a 2025 Honorable Mention All-GAC selection this season after averaging 13.7 points per game. She led the GAC in made 30-pointers with 70 on the year.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, carry a 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher, and have competed in 90% of the institution's games played or have started in all least 66% of the games in a single season.

Academic success has been a hallmark of the women's basketball program under head coach Jill Thomas. The Reddies earned 2024 Academic Top-25 Team Honor Roll from the WBCA last season and had a cumulative team GPA of 3.49 during the fall semester of the 2024-25 school year.
