Women's Basketball Game Notes
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Henderson State's Women's Basketball (17-9, 13-9) heads to Fort Smith, Arkansas for the GAC Championships in Northside Arena as the No. 4 seed. The Reddies will face off against the No. 5 seed Southeastern Oklahoma State (16-12, 13-9) in the first round. They will face off on Friday March 6th, with tip off scheduled for 5:45 P.M.

Henderson State is coming off a strong performance the last week of the regular season, defeating Arkansas Tech on the road 94-88, before defeating the #14 ranked Harding at home 77-75.
The Reddie offense has been clicking the last several weeks, averaging 78.8 points per game over the last four contests. In that same time, Henderson State has shot 49.5 percent from the field, and 53.8 percent from three, significantly better than the season average.
Henderson State excell at preventing second chances, as they have out-rebounded opponents defensively, collecting 94 defensive rebounds to opponents 50 offensive rebounds, averaging 23.5 defensive rebounds a game.
Opponents are shooting 43.1 percent from the field against the Reddies, while the Henderson State defense is much better at defending against the three, holding opponents to shooting 33.8 percent from three.
Turnovers have continued to be a struggle for Henderson State, as they have managed to force 12.7 turnovers a game in the last four contests, but still take care of the ball, only committing 13.2 turnovers per game.
Scouting Southeastern Oklahoma State
The Savage Storm are coming off a two-win week as well, besting Southern Nazarene 65-60, and Southwestern Oklahoma State 68-67 on the road.
Southeastern Oklahoma State's offense is averaging 66.5 points per game over the last two weeks, with Kenzli Warden averaging a team leading 19.5 points per game over that span.
The Savage Storm are averaging the fifth-most rebounds in the GAC, 37.1 per game, but are also conceding the most rebounds to opponents every game to an average of 39.8 rebounds per game.
The Southeastern defense is robust, limiting opponents to an average of 62 points per game over the past four contests. The Savage Storm are holding opponents to the second-lowest field goal percentage in the GAC (36.8).
The Reddies were bested by the Savage Storm last time this season, losing on the road 91-67. The Reddies last faced Southeastern in the GAC tournament in the 2019-20 season, where they lost in overtime 87-84.
