Three Reddies Honored with All-GAC Selections

2025-26 GAC Honors

FORT SMITH, Ark. - Before the GAC Championships began, Natalie Cardenas, Grayson Fairless, and Brynlee Huggins were all honored with All-GAC selections, as announced by the conference tonight.

Cardenas earned the only First Team All-GAC honor for the Reddies this season after leading the team and ranking fourth in the conference averaging 18.4 points per game. The junior guard from Mesquite, Texas ranked second on the team in rebounds per game (5.4) and assists (59), while collecting the most steals (41). Cardenas, who earned GAC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season shot 40.8 percent from the field, and ranked eighth in the GAC in three point field goal percentage, shooting 38.9 percent. Cardenas recorded fourteen games with 20+ points, including two double-doubles against Texas A&M-Texarkana and Southern Arkansas.

Fairless earned All-GAC Honorable mention after leading the team and ranking second in the GAC in rebounds (261), while averaging a GAC leading 10.0 rebounds per game. Averaging 12.2 points per game, the Mena, Arkansas native is the only player in the GAC to average a double-double this season. The most recent GAC Offensive Player of the Week, Fairless was an efficient scorer, ranking second in the Great American Conference in field goal percentage, shooting 54.0 percent from the floor, and recorded a total of eight double-doubles on the season.

Huggins earned All-GAC Honorable Mention after a season where she led the team that had the best three-point field goal percentage in the conference. While shooting the most made three point shots in the GAC (59). Averaging 12.9 points per game, the Pangburn, Arkansas native ranked second behind Cardenas on the team in total points, while leading the Reddies in total blocks, recording 19 on the year. Huggins' best game came against Southwestern Oklahoma State, where she shot 60.0 percent from three, and put up 28 total points in a 83-65 road win.

Additionally, Sam Basson, Fairless, Huggins, Jayla Lewis and Riley Samples were named to the GAC Academic Honor Roll, an honor reserved for students with at least a 3.5 grade point average and one or more years of full-time residency.

The Reddies look to continue their season at the GAC Championships in Fort Smith, Arkansas as the #4 seed. Henderson State will face #5 seed Southeastern Oklahoma State on Friday, March 6th at Northside Arena. Tip off is scheduled for 5:45 P.M.
