2024-25 GAC BASKETBALL ALL-CONFERENCE AWARDS

FORT SMITH, Ark.  —  Five different members of Henderson State's women's basketball team were honored at the 2024-25 GAC Basketball All-Conference Awards on Wednesday. Natalie Cardenas and Brynlee Huggins earned Honorable Mention All-GAC recognition, while senior Bobbi Bazzle was one of only six players in the league to be named an Elite Scholar Athlete.

Cardenas led the team and finished fifth in the conference with 15.1 points per game. The sophomore guard from Mesquite, Texas, reached double figures in 11 straight games to close out the season. She scored 20 or more points on six different occasions during the 2024-25 campaign, including a career-high 32 points versus Harding on Dec. 14.

Huggins paced the GAC with 70 threes made on the year. The Pangburn, Arkansas, native also finished tenth in the conference at 13.7 points per contest. She made a career-high six threes at Southern Arkansas on Jan. 25 and posted a career-best 27 points at Arkansas-Monticello on Jan. 4. The junior also had six games with 20 points or more.

Bazzle has now been selected as a GAC Elite Scholar Athlete in back-to-back seasons. In addition to her academic achievements, the forward from The Woodlands, Texas, closed the year with 6.2 rebounds per game - good for seventh in the conference. She finished her Reddie career with 486 boards.

Huggins, Tristin Keller, and Makenna Winans all earned spots on the GAC Academic Honor Roll.
