Groundbreaking Scheduled for Wage Player Development Center

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State University has announced a groundbreaking ceremony for the new James Reginald Wage Player Development Center. The ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 at Clyde Berry Field.

The James Reginald Wage Player Development Center will feature a covered training facility equipped with batting cages, bullpens, and a flexible netting system that can be reconfigured for infield practice and defensive drills. The indoor space will ensure training can continue year-round, providing uninterrupted development for student-athletes regardless of weather conditions.

"We are deeply grateful to the Wage and Jones families for their incredible generosity and commitment to Henderson State University and Reddie Athletics," HSU Chancellor Dr. Trey Berry said. "This transformative gift will leave a lasting impact on our student-athletes for generations to come. Jim's legacy as a Reddie will now be forever honored through this facility, which will provide invaluable opportunities for growth, development, and success."

"This is a monumental step forward for our program," Henderson State head baseball coach Cody Hooten said. "The Wage Player Development Center will give our student-athletes the tools they need to reach their full potential and take our program to the next level. We're honored to carry Jim Wage's name forward and incredibly thankful for the generosity that makes this possible."

All are invited to this groundbreaking ceremony, and are asked to register at this link.
