ARKADELPHIA, Ar. -- The Henderson State Athletic Department today launched a new brand enhancement. The update includes a new athletics logo set and an upgrade of the HSUSports.com athletic website.
"The purpose of the brand enhancement is to modernize our traditional look and to provide consistency to the Henderson State Athletics brand," said Director of Athletics
Shawn Jones. "The iconic "H" faces forward because we are working hard every day to move this department forward. The block Reddies lettering symbolizes a bold, yet classy look. The Henderson "H" has taken on many looks over the years, and we feel like we've found a great way to symbolize the Reddie Spirit now and into the future."
In the University's 125th year the brand enhancement forms part of Henderson's current strategic plan. "One of the priorities within our current strategic plan is to enhance the University's regional, state, and national profile. We believe that the success of our student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom is doing this. We also feel strongly that our brand enhancement will not only support this, but also provide clear messaging to our external audiences and will help in unifying the overall Henderson Brand."
The new brand enhancement creates a unified look for Henderson State Athletics, including a modernized "H-Reddie" logo, a Henderson State wordmark, a Reddies wordmark and sport-specific wordmarks for each team. All logos will incorporate the the official University colors of red (Pantone 201), gray ( Pantone Cool Gray 11), black and white.
"For Henderson to achieve greater prominence in the region and nation, our university must be good stewards of a consistent brand. That brand includes the academic and athletic endeavors that - brought together - create our vibrant Reddie Spirit," said Executive Director of the Office of Marketing and Communications Tonya Oaks Smith. "The new Reddie-H is an important part of branding for the university as a whole. The refreshed mark will help Henderson State develop into a stronger brand."

H-REDDIES LOGOThe most recent H-Reddies logo was created in 1999 and has served Henderson for the past 16 years. Prior to 1999, various logos have been used including a slanting blocked HSU and a logo that featured an "H" with the word "Reddies" appearing through the center bar of the "H".
