Henderson State ended the regular-season on a high notes as the Reddies downed Harding 80-69, Saturday at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Once again Henderson had to come-from-behind as the Reddies trailed 26-25 at the half.
The Reddies, 16-10 overall and 11-5 in the Great American Conference, struggled in the first-half shooting just 30 percent from the field. Henderson, however, rebounded to shot 62 percent in the second half to put away the Bisons.
Harding, 13-13 overall and 8-8 in the GAC, led 26-21 with just over a minute left in the first half, but Henderson State scored a pair of buckets to end the half and nine straight points to open the second half.
The Reddies led by as many as 17 points with eight minutes left in the second half, but the Bisons went on a huge run to cut the deficit to 66-63 with 3:34 to play in the game.
Josh French then hit a pair of jumpers to put Henderson back up 70-63 and the Reddies went on to pull away from the Bisons.
Jonathan Fitzgerald was one of five Reddies to score in double-figures having a game-high 21 points to go along with eight assists.
KaJuan Watson added 14 points, while Andrew Ensley recorded his third straight double-double having 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Denzel Lyles scored 11 points, while French added 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Zach Roddenberry led Harding with 19 points and nine rebounds. DeAntra Scott and Bradley Spencer had 13 points each.
The Reddies ended the game hitting 27-of-59 from the floor for 46 percent shooting, while Harding was 22-of-55 for 40 percent.
Henderson State will advance to post-season play for the first time since 2007, as the Reddies will be the No. 2 seed at the inaugural Great American Conference Tournament in Bartlesville, Okla.
Henderson State will play on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. against either Southern Arkansas or Southwestern Oklahoma.
