Ouachita Baptist scored three runs in the sixth and seventh-innings to beat Henderson State 9-3, Wednesday at Rab Rodgers Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The Reddies, 10-6 on the season, managed just seven total hits off of three Tiger pitchers, while OBU compiled 11 hits and benefitted from three Henderson State errors.
Brittain Diamond was 2-for-4 with a triple and a pair of runs scored, while
Michael Schell had a RBI double and
Jeff Beck a two-run single to lead the Reddies.
Parker Norris, McCrae Jones and Brock Green had two hits each for the Tigers with Norris having a pair of doubles and Green driving in four runs.
The Reddies used eight different pitchers with
Dusty Thornton getting tabbed with the loss.
Kurt Peppenhors pitched 6 2/3 innings for the Tigers giving up three runs on six hits in picking up the win.
Henderson State will next play host to Southeastern Oklahoma in a three game Great American Conference series at Clyde Berry Field.
With inclement weather expected for Arkadelphia, this weekend's series will begin with a single 9-inning game on Friday beginning at 2 p.m., with a double-header slated for a Noon start or Saturday.
