Reddies Split With Northeastern State

After losing the first game of the series 6-5 to Northeastern State, Henderson State collected 23 hits and rebounded to beat the River Hawks 25-3 in game two, Saturday in Tahlequah, Okla.

Eight Reddies collected two or more hits with four players having three hits each.

Jordan Trosclair went 3-for-6 with four RBI and a double, while Michael Schell was a perfect 3-for-3.

Also having three hits were Mitch Frey and Brittain Diamond. Frey had a double and drove in four runs, while Diamond also plated four.

Josh Ritter entered the game and had two hits including a grand slam.

Taylor Coleman had two hits with a triple and three RBI, with Garret Eller having two hits including a two-run home run.

Henderson used four pitchers in the game with Dusty Thornton getting the win improving to 3-4 on the year.

In the first game, the Reddies rallied for two runs in the seventh and three in the ninth but fell short as Northeastern held on to win 6-5.

Frey had three hits in the game while Michael Corso had two doubles.

Nathan Eller was tabbed with the loss on the hill pitching 6 innings while allowing four runs on eight hits. Eller fell to 4-4 on the year.
