REDDIES FACE SEOSU IN GAC SHOWDOWN

Henderson State will attempt to win its second straight home game for the first time this season as the Reddies play host to Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday with tip-off set for 4 p.m.
 
The Reddies are coming off a 75-56 beating of East Central Oklahoma on Thursday at the Duke Wells Center.       

Henderson State enters the game with an 8-12 record overall and a 5-7 mark in Great American Conference play. 

The Reddies used 61 percent shooting in the second half against East Central to outscore the Tigers 41 to 23 in the half.
The Reddies remain as the top shooting team in the GAC with a 47.0 field goal percentage.
 
Deoirvay Johnson scored 23 points against ECU on Thursday and averages a team best 13.9 points per game.
 
Melvin Haynes averages 12.6 points per contest and leads the team in free throw shooting converting on 86 percent from the charity stripe.
 
Taylor Smith is averaging 11.3 points per game and leads the GAC in 3-point shooting hitting on 50 percent of his attempts (33-of-66).        


Kevin Kozan went 5-for-7 from the 3-point arc on Thursday and is shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc. Kozan is averaging 9.7 points per game.   
                       
Urald King leads the Savage Storm in scoring, averaging 16.3 points per contest and also leads the team in rebounding with 9.7 boards per game.   
  
Taylor Smaller follows averaging 10.9 points per game and is the team's top 3-point threat shooting 34 percent from beyond the arc.
 
The two teams faced off earlier this season with Southeastern beating Henderson State 65-62.  The Reddies shot just 46.7 percent from the free-throw line in the loss.        

Three Reddies finished the game in double-figures, led by Ronald Lawson who scored 15 points. Taylor Smith and Reggie Murphy added 13 and 12 points.
 
Henderson State leads the all-time series having an 8-5 advantage in a series which began in 1969. Southeastern won earlier this season 65-62 in Durant, Okla.
 
Southeastern has won the last two meetings, however the Reddies have won the last five meetings played in the Duke Wells Center.
