REDDIES FACE TOUGH CHALLENGE IN THE LONE STAR STATE

Henderson State will play its final game of 2014 as the Reddies travel to Commerce, Texas to face Texas A&M-Commerce, Friday with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
 
The Reddies bring a 6-4 record into the contest after a 92-83 loss to Harding last week.
 
Henderson faces a tough challenge as the Lions are outscoring their opponents by nearly 10 points per game.
 
Henderson will have to do a better job on the boards as the Reddies were outrebounded 38 to 26 last week against the Bisons.
 
The Reddies are averaging 73.1 points per game and are shooting 46.7 percent from the field.
 
Kevin Kozan leads the Reddies in scoring averaging 14.7 points per game. The sophomore from New Lenox, Ill. is averaging 17.0 points per game in the last five games.
 
For the year, Kozan is shooting 52.2 percent from the field, including 47 percent from beyond the arc making 29-of-62 three-point field goals.
 
Reggie Murphy follows averaging 14.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Murphy was limited to a seson low 6 points last week against Harding.
 
Micah Walker scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against Harding and is averaging 9.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.
 
Texas A&M-Commerce enters the game having an 8-2 overall record following a 71-64 win over Southern Arkansas on Monday.
 
The Lions are on a six-game win streak highlighted by back-to-back wins over top 25 opponents with a 68-67 win over No. 11 Cal.-Baptist and a 74-64 win over No. 17 Dixie State in the CBU Thanksgiving Classic
.          
TAMC averages 83.2 points per game with the Lions leading the nation in free throws made.
 
Three players average double-figures for the Lions with LaDon Carnegie leading the team in scoring at 17.9 points per game.  Darrell Williams follows averaging 16.4 points and a team-best 11.8 rebounds per contest.

Also averaging double-figures is Anthony Adams who is scoring at a 14.8 clip while dishing out 44 assists.
 
Henderson State and Texas A&M Commerce have played 22 times with the Lions leading the series with a 14-8 advantage including a pair of wins last year.
 
Texas A&M Commerce has won the last nine straight meetings dating back to Dec. 4, 1995.
