Henderson State will attempt to clinch a spot in the Great American Conference Tournament as the Reddies face Northwestern Oklahoma, Saturday at the Duke Wells Center with tip-off set for 4 p.m.
Henderson State would clinch a spot in the post season event with a win and a loss by either Ouachita Baptist or Southeastern Oklahoma.
Henderson State enters the game with an 11-14 record overall and a 7-10 mark in GAC play after a 79-74 double-overtime loss to Southwestern Oklahoma. Three of Henderson's last four games have gone into overtime.
Deoirvay Johnson leads Henderson State in scoring averaging 13.1 points per game including shooting 46 percent from beyond the arc.

Taylor Smith is averaging 11.9 points per game and leads the GAC in 3-point shooting hitting on 47 percent of his attempts (40-of-85).
Melvin Haynes averages 11.4 points per contest and leads the team in free throw shooting converting on 84 percent from the charity stripe.

Northwestern Oklahoma is 10-13 overall and 7-10 in the GAC after a 77-76 loss to Ouachita Baptist on Thursday.

Bruce Wright leads the Rangers in scoring averaging 14.1 points per game and is the team's top rebounder at 6.6 per contest.

Kevin Kozan jump-started the Reddies midway through the half with a 3-point field goal at the 10:56 mark.

Haynes and Johnson also hit some big long-range jumpers, while the Reddies made 12-of-15 free throws in the final 10 minutes to rally for the win.

The Reddies used a balanced scoring attack as five players scored in double-figures. Haynes led the way with 16 points including going 4-for-6 from 3-point range.

Kozan and Johnson scored 15 points each with the two combining to go 9-for-12 at the foul line. Lawson and
Reggie Murphy scored 13 points each with Murphy pulling down a team-best 8 rebounds.
