Henderson State will play host to a basketball double-header on Thursday against crosstown rival Ouachita Baptist in part one of the Southern Bancorp Battle of the Ravine in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The women's game is set for 5:30 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center, with the men's game to follow at 7:30 p.m.

In conjunction with the game, HSU and OBU will join together in supporting the new Percy & Donna Malone Child Safety Center of Clark County.

The Percy & Donna Malone Child Safety Center (PDMCSC) is a nonprofit located in Arkadelphia, Ark. and will serve a five county region. After a child has been abused or severely neglected, the PDMCSC will provide forensic interviews, victim advocate services, forensic medical exams and trauma focused therapy at no cost to the child or family.

Those attending the game are asked to bring donations of various items for the center including:
• Individually wrapped healthy snacks or juice boxes
• Underwear of all sizes for all children & adolescents
• Children & Adolescent Socks
• Toilet Paper & Paper Towels
• Clorox Wipes
• Blankets
• Toiletries such as toothpaste, deodorant, toothbrushes, etc.
• Gift Cards or Monetary Donations

Members of HSU's Student Athlete Advisory Committee and volunteers of the PDMCSC will be on hand to collect all donations at the entrance of the Duke Wells Center.

The Henderson State women have won three of its last four games and will look to protect its home court against the Lady Tigers.

Henderson State is averaging 78.2 points in its last four games with the Reddies shooting 47 percent from the field making 113-of-242 shots. Henderson has also hit 39-of-92 3-point field goals in the last four games.

A pair of double-double performances from
Aungelique Sledge and
Dulincia Keener helped the Reddies run past Southwestern Oklahoma 85-73 a week ago.
Sledge leads the team in scoring averaging 18.6 points per game, and recorded a double-double a week ago against SWOSU, scoring 35 points and pulling down 16 boards. She also had five assists and four steals in that game.

Haleigh Henson is averaging 10.3 points per contest. The freshman from Greenwood, Ark. is HSU's 3-point shooting threat having made 34-of-106 trifectas.

Victoria Stewart has also had the hot hand averaging 12.5 points the past four games including 19 points against SNU after making 5-of-7 three-point field goals.

Ouachita Baptist enters the game with a 6-10 overall record and a 2-7 mark in GAC play following a 71-67 win over Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday.

The Lady Tigers average 63.9 points per game and are led in scoring by Breanna Harris, who averages 12.1 points per game, while Katie Kapler averages 11.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game at the post position.

OBU leads the all-time series over HSU 37-36.

On the men's side, Henderson State sports a 7-8 record overall and a 4-5 mark in the GAC.

The Reddies are currently tied for fifth in the GAC standings along with three other teams.

Kevin Kozan continues to lead the Reddies in scoring averaging 14.8 points per game. The sophomore from New Lenox, Ill. is shooting 42 percent from beyond the 3-point arc having made 43-of-102 attempts this season.

Reggie Murphy follows averaging 12.9 points and a team-best 6.5 rebounds per game. Murphy, however, has been limited to 9.7 points and 5.7 rebounds in the last four games.

Micah Walker is also averaging double-figures scoring 10.9 points per game while pulling down 5.1 rebounds. The senior from Jonesboro is averaging 12.0 points in the last four games.  Â
Ouachita Baptist enters the game atop the GAC standings with an 11-3 record overall and a 7-2 mark in league play.        Â
The Tigers average 79.1 points per game, second in the league. OBU leads the GAC in margin of victory (+10.7) as well as rebounding margin (+5.6).

Tirrell Brown leads the team in scoring and ranks fourth in the GAC averaging 17.5 points per game. Brown is also a strong rebounder averaging 7.6 boards per contest.

Colt Fason follows averaging 13.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Fason earned GAC Player of the Week honors this past week after averaging 20.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in a pair of games last week. Fason became the third player in GAC history to reach the 1,000 point milestone.

Justin McCleary also averages double-figures, scoring 12.7 points per game. McCleary is OBU's best 3-point shooter having made 41-of-88 trifectas for 47 percent which ranks second in the GAC.          Â
Ouachita Baptist leads the all-time series with Henderson State having a 102-96 advantage. OBU has won 8 of the last 10 meetings and 13 of the last 16 contests dating back to 2007.
In addition to the game, Henderson State will introduce new volleyball head coach
Kristee Porter between games.
Henderson State will also hold a special presentation at halftime of the men's game recognizing
Aungelique Sledge for becoming the 10th player in HSU women's basketball to score 1,000 career points.
