Coming off a sweep of Ouachita Baptist on Thursday, Henderson State will hit the road to take on Arkansas Tech in GAC basketball action in Russellville, Ark. on Saturday.

The women's game is set for a 1 p.m. tip in Tucker Coliseum, while the men's games is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.

The Henderson State women are playing their best basketball of the season over its last five games going 4-1 in January. In those games, HSU is outscoring its opponents 77.6 to 66.2 and averaging nine 3-pointers per game.

Aungelique Sledge is averaging 22.4 points in her last five contests, while also pulling down 8.6 rebounds, and
Haleigh Henson averages 16.0 points.

Dulincia Keener is also playing her best basketball of the season averaging 12.8 points and 8.8 rebounds in January.

Henderson State averages 67.2 points per game during conference play this season, shooting 41 percent from the field and 33 percent from 3-point range. The Reddies are also outrebounding their GAC opponents 38.9 to 38.5.

Arkansas Tech, ranked 8th in the Division II Poll, enters the game after losing their first GAC contest of the season to Harding by a score of 74-61 on Thursday.

The Golden Suns are led by Fatima Adams, who leads the GAC in scoring averaging 21.0 points per game, along with 9.7 rebounds per game. Anissa Pounds (13.1) and Katrina Hayden (11.4) also score in double figures and combined to average 7 assists per game. The Golden Suns are outscoring their opponents by 17.7 points this season, averaging 79.3 points per game and shooting 47 percent from the field.   Â
Earlier this season, Arkansas Tech got a 28 point performance Fatima Adams as the Golden Sun used a big second-half to beat Henderson State 70-56 in Arkadelphia.

Henderson State challenged Arkansas Tech for most of the game until the Golden Suns' defense limited the Reddies to just 2-of-14 shooting in the final 9 minutes.

The Reddies held the lead for most of the first-half until Arkansas Tech outscored HSU 10 to 4 in the final five minutes to take a 32-26 lead at the break.

Sledge led Henderson State in scoring with 21 points going 8-of-19 from the field. The senior from West Helena, Ark. also had six rebounds.
Annie Thomas also recorded her first career double-double having 12 points and 11 rebounds for HSU.

The Reddie men is coming off a huge win on Thursday knocking off then first-place Ouachita Baptist 71-67.

The Reddies are 8-8 overall and have a 5-5 record in GAC play. The Reddies moved into fifth-place in the GAC standings, one game ahead of five teams that are tied at 4-6 in league play.

Kevin Kozan scored 21 points and was 7-for-10 from 3-point range against OBU. The sophomore from New Lenox, Ill. leads the team averaging 15.2 points per game while also shooting 45 percent from 3-point range.

Reggie Murphy follows averaging 12.3 points and a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game.

Micah Walker is also averaging double-figures scoring 10.7 points per game while pulling down 5.1 rebounds. The senior from Jonesboro, Ark. scored 9 points against OBU while hitting on 6-of-8 free throws down the stretch.

Kelvin Dixon scored 16 points against the Tigers and is averaging 7.4 points per game.

Arkansas Tech enters Saturday's game with an 8-10 record overall and a 4-6 mark in league play. The Wonder Boys are attempting to snap a four-game losing streak, which includes an 89-80 loss at Harding on Thursday.   Â
Mike Balogun leads the team in scoring averaging 13.9 points per game. Balogun is also the team's top 3-point shooter making 49-of-122 treys.

Nick Wayman follows averaging 9.9 points and a team best 5.6 rebounds per game.

Another player to watch is Tyler Friedel. Friedel is another 3-point specialist and averages 8.3 points per game. Of his 122 field goal attempts, 113 have been from beyond the arc, making 39 percent of his attempts.

Last time against the Wonder Boys, Henderson State fell behind 29-24 at half but stormed back to beat Arkansas Tech 69-63 at the Duke Wells Center.Â

Henderson State shot just 31 percent from the field in the first half, but guards
Kevin Kozan and
Aaron Cooper combined for 24 second half points, as the Reddies shot a blistering 54 percent from the field in the second half.

Cooper led the way with 18 points as he knocked down three trifectas and 7-of-8 free throw attempts. Kozan had 16 points, going 6-of-12 from the field and 3-of-8 from 3-point range.

Kelvin Dixon contributed to the balanced HSU attack with 14 points, and also hauled in eight rebounds.
Reggie Murphy scored 10 points while ripping down seven boards. ATU was led in scoring by D.J. Jethroe with 17 points, while Mike Balogun scored 15.

Henderson State connected on 18-of-23 free throws, including going 8-for-8 from the stripe in the final minute.
